Lois Schneider Realtor Wishes You and Yours a Very

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Anniversary!

October 21, 2011

It’s a beautiful autumn day today, a perfect day to take a stroll up and down the streets of downtown Summit. Perhaps you’ll dine al fresco one last time before it gets too cold, perhaps you’ll visit one of the fine clothing stores looking for a fall wardrobe enhancement, perhaps you’ll stop by the bank or the hardware store or the pharmacy. And perhaps you’ll walk past our very own window display and notice the balloons, confetti, and champagne glasses — an indication of a celebration! And what a celebration it is–today we are taking a moment as a company to celebrate 35 years of Lois Schneider Realtor!

35 years ago, Lois made the decision to go against the grain of big mergers and franchising in the real estate business; and instead, focused on a business with just one office and just one mission: superb service. And Lois has stayed true to that mission for 35 years, maintaining an agency rooted in market knowledge and first-class service. Lois has taken her business savvy and her steadfast commitment to excellent service and combined it with that one other thing she knows so well–that one thing that makes real estate the perfect business for her–a sense of “home.”

Her sense of home is evident in what she has created with her husband Al, and has grown over the years to include her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter. It is seen in her role as “head of the household” at LSR, where she has fostered the atmosphere of home from the way she decorates the office all the way through the way in which she treats her agents and staff as members of her extended family.   Lois’s commitment  to home moves outward to the community as well, where she believes that the members of a community, much like the members of a family, are responsible for each other. She believes that lending a helping hand, in a respectful manner, is the way to build a strong, vibrant society, and she insists on doing her part.  And finally, but most importantly, Lois takes great pride in bringing that sense of home to her clients. She knows that this business is about more than buying or selling a “house”; it is about sharing the excitement of opening the door to the perfect place to start building memories, and it’s about anticipating the emotions of closing the door when it is time to move on. That is why Lois has proven to be a perfect fit for the real estate world; because at the very heart of it all, it is about home.

The real estate business has changed a great deal in 35 years, and Lois Schneider Realtor has weathered the storms, faced the challenges, and gained the experience to continue to move ahead and navigate the current market. And in the end, after all, it is still about home. And there is no place like it.

So tonight, the “family” of Lois Schneider Realtor will celebrate home, and will celebrate the head of our household, Lois Schneider. Here’s to a remarkable 35 years. We are proud and honored to be a part of it. Congratulations to you, Lois!!!

Thank You Vancouver

March 1, 2010

A very special thank you to the people of Vancouver, British Columbia for being such gracious hosts to Olympic athletes and fans from all over the world. Between the opening ceremonies on February 12th and the closing ceremonies on the 28th, people from every corner of the world tuned in to watch the XXI Winter Olympic Games, sharing in the highs and lows, victories and disappointments, and heartaches and celebrations of the participants. Bleary-eyed from staying up until midnight or after, fans in the United States would spend the mornings talking about Apolo Ohno’s personal medal count, the four-man American bobsled team winning their first gold medal since the 1940s, and Evan Lysacek beautifully skating to gold without the help of  “a quad.” We collectively mourned after the tragic accident that claimed the life of Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili.  We watched in awe as Canadian figure skater Joannie Rochette bravely skated to bronze following the sudden passing of her mother. We were amazed by the thrilling performances of the snowboarders, skiers, and speed skaters.  And oh that hockey game! The final minutes of the final event could not have been any more exciting if it had been scripted for the movies!

The dedication and commitment displayed by the Olympic athletes, coaches and families is a valuable lesson to take away from these games. The Olympic spotlight is bright, but the Olympic spirit comes from early morning practices, perfecting a skill, getting up after a fall, and being humble when you win and gracious when you don’t. It really is about how you play the game, and these Olympic games were a memorable example of that spirit.

Did you watch the Olympics?  What was the most memorable moment for you? Feel free to post a comment and let us know.
